What is the process for renewing certificates ?

Renew your GROWSAFE® and Approved Handler Certificates through one simple system to give you peace of mind of total cover:
GROWSAFE® and Approved Handler = Total Cover
√ Certified to purchase and apply tracked agrichemicals
√ Certified to apply certain agrichemicals in a wide dispersive manner
√ Trained to apply agrichemicals in a safe, responsible and effective way with minimal adverse impact on human, environmental and animal health
√ Aware of your obligations under the Hazardous Substance and New Organisms Act 1996 (HSNO), the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA) and the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (ACVM Act).
You can renew your GROWSAFE® and Approved Handler Certificates by:
● Attending a half day face to face renewal workshop, or
● Online
Requirement for GROWSAFE® Approved Handler Certification
● GROWSAFE® certification is required when applying any agrichemical in the air, on land and water, in accordance with the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA) and the majority of Regional Council Air Plans. The Resource Management Act promotes sustainable management of natural and physical resources and covers the adverse effects of agrichemicals on the environment. The Act is administered by Regional Councils that have Air Plans with rules that address how agrichemicals should be used in their region to comply with the Act
● GROWSAFE® certification is required by orchardists and growers to comply with both the NZ Gap and GLOBAL GAP quality assurance programmes. Both quality assurance programmes assure customers that produce is safe to consume and have been produced in a sustainable manner
● GROWSAFE® agrichemical training is based on industry best practice and covers-off all of the regulatory obligations and responsibilities required under the Hazardous Substance and New Organisms Act 1996 (HSNO)(administered by ERMA), the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA) and the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (ACVM Act).
● AGRICHEMICAL APPROVED HANDLER
Agrichemical Approved Handler certification is required to purchase and handle tracked agrichemicals, and to apply certain agrichemicals in a wide dispersive manner, under the Hazardous Substance and New Organisms Act 1996 (HSNO)
